What is Calapalooza? Find out on Thursday, August 28, 5:30pm-9pm, in Upper and Lower Sproul Plaza!

Calapalooza is Berkeley's annual new student activity fair, the heart of your Welcome experience. All new freshmen, transfer students, and participants in the Extension Fall Program for Freshmen are invited.

During the fair, you'll meet representatives from over 200 student organizations, as well as view performances by student groups. Cal Dining will be serving a dinner. (All meal plan holders will swipe their Cal 1 Cards for a wristband. Any new undergraduates without a meal plan can pick-up their wristbands at the blue and gold CalSO tent. Meals will also be available for purchase.)

Due to budget cuts and the new academic calendar, we have spent considerable time developing a new event plan that still allows us to honor the original spirit of Calapalooza while reducing the event scope. To mitigate a reduction in tabling space, tabler participation will be limited to recognized student organizations. There will be no tabling space for administrative offices, campus departments, and community agencies. We apologize for any inconvenience that this causes our campus and community partners.

The ASUC Auxiliary is holding a new community-focused event in Pauley Ballroom during the beginning of the fall semester. Contact Peter Quintin at pquintin@berkeley.edu for participation information.

Recreational Sports will be hosting its annual Caltopia college lifestyle festival on August 24 and 25. Contact recsportsmarketing@berkeley.edu for more information.
