AC Transit Class Pass: Your student fees cover the Class Pass, a sticker for your Cal 1 Card (Cal Photo ID) that gives you free, unlimited rides on AC Transit, the East Bay's public bus system, and on BearTransit campus shuttles. Get your sticker at the Cal 1 Card office, 180 César Chávez Center, M-F, 9AM until 5PM.
Analytical Writing Placement: If you have not yet fulfilled the Entry Level Writing requirement, you must take this exam. Contact College Writing Programs, 642-5570 for more information, writing.berkeley.edu.
Bike License: Register your bike, it's the law in Berkeley! The UC Police Department offers bicycle licenses for free. You can get more information about bicycles on campus and where and when to register at police.berkeley.edu/bike. If you have questions about bike licenses, call UCPD's Safety Program Supervisor, 642-9109.

Cal Adventures O.A.T.S. Trips: Want to meet some new friends and go on a wilderness orientation trip before the semester begins? O.A.T.S. trips are designed especially for first year and transfer students to attend right before campus move-in. This Spring we are going to Death Valley National Park. Download Music Legally: This is an on-line service provided through partnerships with iTunes and Ruckus by IST's Technology Acquisition and Sales. Students are given legal access to large collections of digital music. Please see rts.berkeley.edu/legaldownloads/ for more information. Go Legal!
Email Account: Students living in the residence halls will set up their email account (if they did not already do so at CalSO) and in-room connection at the CalConnect Session during Welcome Events.
For students living off-campus, setting up an email account is easy and can be done from home. You must have an activated CalNet ID to set up an email account and to create a campus network connection.
Go to the CalMail Home Page (calmail.berkeley.edu) and click on Create Account.
For in-person assistance, you can go to Student Computer Consulting Services (SCCS), Weekdays, 10am to 2pm, Moffitt Library, first floor, sccs.berkeley.edu.
Financial Aid Checks/CARS (Campus Accounts Receivable System) Refunds: Refunds are issued via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). With EFT, funds are deposited directly into your checking or savings account as long as you are registered for the term and your CARS account balance is current. Otherwise, a check will be printed and held for you to pick up at the Billing and Payment Services Office, 140 University Hall. To activate or update your EFT authorization, go to eftstudent.berkeley.edu.
Please note, checks held because of past-due CARS accounts or incomplete registration may also be picked up at 140 University Hall once the reason for the hold has been resolved.

Immunization: First-time enrollees who are 19 or younger must provide proof of Hepatitis B vaccination as a condition of enrollment. It is also strongly recommended that you update childhood vaccinations (including chicken pox, MMR, and tetanus). Loan Counseling Entrance Interview: First-time loan borrowers at UC Berkeley must go through an online entrance interview prior to receiving loan money. Entrance interviews are all done through the Bear Facts web site at bearfacts.berkeley.edu, 642-3190 or through the Billing and Payment Services website, billing.berkeley.edu.
Math Placement Exams: Optional math placement exams will help you be sure that you've picked the right math class. You can take them online anytime to practice at math.berkeley.edu/courses_placement.html, 642-6550.

Quantitative Reasoning Exam: A multiple-choice exam to satisfy the College of Letters & Science quantitative reasoning requirement, math.berkeley.edu, 642-6550.
Recreational Sports: The Department of Rec Sports offers students a complete package of fitness and recreational activities, including cardio machines, weight rooms, tennis courts, free drop-in group exercise classes, intramural sports, martial arts, sport clubs and open recreational hours for activities such as basketball, swimming, and volleyball. We also offer full U.S. passport services to campus affiliates and the public. To take advantage of these opportunities, students need to join the Cal Rec Club. Residence Telephone Services: Students living in University-owned housing will receive all telephone service through Residence Telephone Services (RTS).
